Heidi Monroe is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), licensed in RI and MA, and a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). Heidi is also trained in Attachment-Focused EMDR from the Parnell Institute. Heidi works with adults and couples and specializes in working with individuals with trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, codependency, chronic illness, and caregiver support.

Heidi's approach is compassionate and strength based. As an SEP, Heidi utilizes talk therapy, emotion regulation, and body awareness to restore each client's innate ability to self-regulate and expand their resilience. Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach to trauma and effective in treating a wide range of issues including PTSD, depression, and anxiety.

Prior to starting her private practice in 2013, Heidi worked as a medical social worker at The Miriam Hospital, and as a group facilitator in Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) at South Bay Mental Health. Heidi also has experience interning in a local domestic violence agency while completing her MSW.

Her office is in Warwick, RI and she offers in person and telehealth sessions.

I have over 20 years of experience working in the mental health field with individuals of all ages and their families. I am a trauma specialist trained in Attachment-Focused EMDR and as a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). My approach is compassionate and supportive. I truly feel honored to be a witness to each one of the clients I work with as they create the change they desire in their lives.
