Professional statement

Jennie is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She is a member of the International Eating Disorder Association (IAEDP), and currently working towards becoming a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS). Many of Jennie's clients are courageous women who appear to have everything together, but inside you feel like they are not being their true selves.

Often, her clients feel like no matter how hard they try, nothing is good enough. Their body and mind have taken the ultimate toll, and they're exhausted. It may be hard for them to stop the messages they have received from their everyday. They find themselves constantly battling the demons in their heads that say they're not good enough, they're not doing life “right," and their body is not “perfect”

Many of Jennie's clients know they deserve to have a kinder relationship with themselves, but don't know where to begin. It can be scary, knowing that their real self feels so far gone that they do not know where to start looking again.

Jennie is here to help tame your inner critic and throw away the mask. She sees the struggle and strength in all her clients, and knows you can achieve what you choose because you no longer hide behind the mask.

Message to clients

Passion: I know things can change because I know the benefits of talking to someone who truly cares and has been there before. The work I do is part of who I am, but it does not define me as a person.

Dedication: I can help you by identifying core issues that have plagued you for far too long. I can help you by listening to you, being a support to you, and giving you the guidance you both want and need. I can help you by letting you borrow some of my hope when you feel like you have none left.

My counseling style is warm, interactive, and nonjudgmental. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in the stigmatization of mental illness. My approach is primarily cognitive-behavioral counseling. I will tailor our dialog to meet your individual needs and goals.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling, happier life, and to take the first steps towards change. If you are ready to take that step, I would be happy to have the opportunity to support and empower you on your journey.
