Jessica Biles is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving NY and NJ. Many of Jessica’s clients come to treatment to address relationship issues, symptoms of depression or anxiety that have become too overwhelming, low self-esteem, life transitions, behavioral/school challenges, trauma or loss. Jessica builds genuine and strong relationships with her clients, and uses humor and a non-judgmental stance to help her clients address topics and feelings that can be hard to talk about.
Jessica’s approach is rooted in evidence-based interventions that she tailors to meet each client's needs. Using her in-depth knowledge of Psychoanalytic Theory, Jessica helps her clients increase their self understanding and ability to respond constructively to deep seated relational patterns. Jessica also integrates concrete coping and mindfulness techniques to help her clients manage daily stressors. Using CBT, Jessica teaches about the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and helps clients learn healthier ways to solve problems. When working with children, Jessica also draws on Play Therapy to help them express themselves, engage in positive behavior changes, and uncover their inner strengths.
After receiving her MSW from New York University, Jessica completed in depth training at The Metropolitan Institute for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. Jessica is also a Nationally Certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, she has advanced training in Play Therapy, and she holds a certificate in the Creative Arts Therapies. But most of all, Jessica’s approach is guided by her compassion for people and a belief that we are resilient.
