Professional statement

Jill is a licensed mental health counselor, LMHC, who serves all of Rhode Island via virtual video. She has experience treating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, work and/or school related stress. She works primarily with adult individuals.

Jill works by creating space for clients to share their lived experiences and related thoughts and feelings. Tangible strategies are identified for clients to use and practice to get on a path to feeling better. Personal strengths are identified and incorporated to promote growth and healing. She utilizes a person-centered, trauma-informed approach and incorporates self-compassion, mindfulness strategies, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and interactive feedback throughout a session.

Jill graduated with a masters degree in clinical mental health counseling from Southern New Hampshire University. Her experience includes opportunities working in settings such as partial hospital, private practice, and community agencies.

Message to clients

It can be a really big challenge to find someone clients feel comfortable to talk about difficult things. I do my best to make clients feel at ease as we work together. I'm kind, down-to-earth, and direct in a very gentle and caring way. I help clients to learn ways to deal with their struggles. I give clients space to share about lived experiences, and I combine tangible strategies to help them cope with what they're going through. My hope for clients is they leave feeling heard, with more hope, and empowerment to handle what they might be dealing with.
