Professional statement

Katie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who practices social work in both corporate and clinical settings. She brings an eclectic background to her clinical work and is inspired by the many life experiences she has had, and the many amazing, strong, resilient people she has met along the way.

The majority of Katie's practice focuses on supporting adults who struggle with anxiety, panic, depression, past trauma/PTSD including medical trauma, feelings of overwhelm, work struggles or conflict, performance anxiety, communication issues, self esteem, fear of conflict, ruminating on life events that didn't turn out the way you may have wanted or expected, uncomfortable body sensations, body shame, parenting stress, adoption & foster care issues, experiences of bias & discrimination, and more.

Katie has worked in corporate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for many years and is very comfortable with therapeutic work relating to varying aspects of identity including but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, differing abilities, body diversity, and language of origin. Here, you will be seen, believed, and respected.

Katie is informed by many different therapeutic modalities and frameworks, including but not limited to Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, Trauma Focused-CBT, Narrative Therapy, Behavioral Activation, and Liberation Health. She also uses role playing, improv, creating art, and other interactive techniques.

Katie offers a warm, accepting, open, allied, creative, sometimes funny, body neutral, connected space to work together toward your goals. She looks forward to meeting you!

Katie holds a BA in Theater from Ithaca College, an MBA in Marketing and Organizational Behavior from Boston University's Questrom School of Business, and a MSW in Clinical Social Work from Boston University's School of Social Work. She also holds a certificate in Mediation & Conflict Management from the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School.
