Dr. Kimberly Nelson, is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a private practice in Austin, Texas and works with couples and adults. Many of Dr. Nelson’s clients present with feelings of stress, anxiety, uncertainty, and depression and are tired of the impact it has taken on their personal and professional relationships. She helps clients address life transitions, relationship issues, work/life balance concerns and feeling stuck and uninspired in daily routines. In addition, Dr. Nelson also pays close attention to the toll the Covid-19 pandemic may have on client's lives.
Dr. Nelson believes the therapeutic relationship is foundation for any change and fosters respectful and collaborative relationships with her clients. Her approach is holistic, using mindfulness and your strengths to help you achieve your goals. Your concerns, experiences, personal history, and expertise will inform your work together. She helps clients understand the connection between their emotional and physical health and utilizes practical strategies, with an emphasis on relaxation, mindfulness and meditation practices, to help clients feel better in the here and now.
Kimberly’s goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental, nurturing environment to position clients as the experts on where they are now, and where they want to go, so they can examine and challenge their concerns. She offers face to face sessions as well as the convenience of remote sessions to make therapy easily accessible.
