Professional statement

Dr. Kristi Phillips received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Minnesota School of Professional Psychology and completed her residency at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

At Wayzata Bay Wellness, Dr. Phillips focuses on the unique challenges of those in high-pressure careers, including healthcare, law, finance, consulting, technology, and academia. The intensity of these jobs often leads to stress, exhaustion, burnout, relationship problems, anxiety about performance, as well as limited time and energy for relationships outside of work, often resulting in frustrated partners and/or a shrinking support network.

Message to clients

My focus is with individuals in high-pressure careers who face a unique set of challenges to their mental wellbeing, this may be:

- Long hours at the office, leaving limited time for mentally-restorative activities like hobbies and exercise that can help ward off burnout

- Constant high-stakes decisions, locking the brain into an exhausting fight-or-flight mode

- Adapting to an expensive lifestyle, with high rewards for “sticking it out” making it difficult to simply say no

I realize that no two people are the same and as such tailor my therapy to meet your specific needs. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression or any other issue, I will help you recognize underlying problems, fully realize your strengths and adjust certain behaviors and thoughts to see things a different, healthier way.
