Professional statement

Lillian Rishty is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Midtown Manhattan with expertise in anxiety, depression, relationships, disordered eating, life transitions, and self-esteem. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders in clients of all ages, including generalized anxiety, phobias, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Lillian is passionate about helping clients develop anxiety management skills that facilitate productive changes and de-escalate distressing feelings.

Lillian’s style is eclectic and individually tailored to each client. She draws upon elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), in which she has received extensive training, as well as supportive therapy. She particularly enjoys working with young adult clients, providing highly individualized care to people navigating general life stressors in their 20s and 30s.

With an emphasis on trust and comfort, Lillian is committed to building a safe, non-judgmental environment for clients to share their experiences, identify self-limiting behaviors, and overcome challenges to lead more fulfilling lives. Her office is conveniently located a short walk from Herald Square.

Message to clients

With the proper support and guidance, therapy helps you cultivate your strengths, regain control, learn ways to overcome challenges, enrich your life, and take steps toward a more fulfilling future. I can help you identify patterns in your life, gain a clearer understanding of your life experiences, and create positive relationships and productive behavior change. I received my Master's at Yeshiva University Wurzweiler School of Social Work. In the past I've worked with children, parents and adolescents in schools, pediatric offices and outpatient rehab settings.
My specialty areas include anxiety, depression, life stress, eating disorders, ADHD, and interpersonal and relationship difficulties. I take an active and empathetic approach to psychotherapy by establishing mutually agreed upon therapeutic goals with my clients and providing a comfortable space to explore, discuss, and be heard.
My therapy style is based on the specific needs of each client. If you're looking for support and guidance through a challenging situation or you're simply ready to move in a new direction, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.
