Professional statement

Lindsey Severance is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapy located in Burbank, CA. Lindsey works with children, young adults, and adults who want to leave their comfort zone in pursuit of more authentic, less stressful lives. Many of Lindsey’s clients struggle with regulating their emotions, and she also works with the parents of children and young people who find it challenging to put into words how they’re feeling. These clients might turn to unhealthy behaviors to cope with their distress, such as substance use or conflict with others. Lindsey also has experience working with those who are neurodivergent, including those with ADHD and developmental disorders.

Lindsey understands that beginning therapy can be scary, which is why her style is based on being approachable and non judgmental. Her sessions enable clients to feel comfortable talking about what’s going on in their lives so that Lindsey can help them identify areas for growth and reflect on their progress. When working with families, Lindsey offers parent-child psychotherapy, helping parents connect with their children in meaningful, structured ways. She also teaches both adults and children mindfulness techniques, which can be effective ways to grow self-awareness. Clients learn about mental health, expanding their knowledge in a way that can empower them to take control over their lives.

Lindsey earned a Master’s degree from Pacific Oaks College. She has nearly ten years of experience working in the mental health field, and has helped countless individuals grow their mental health and engage with their emotions in healthier ways.
