Professional statement

Madeline has an Honors Bachelor of Science in psychology and a Master of Arts in counselor education from the University of Minnesota. Her extensive knowledge of counseling theories, diagnosis and treatment, coupled with a 700-hour internship at Washburn Center for Children, prepared her to work with children, teens, and parents with anxiety, depression, ADHD, attachment, emotional regulation, and relationship issues. Her internship strengthened her abilities as a therapist and allowed her to create a set of skills and tools for her clients. She has completed additional training on attachment theory, family therapy, child development, and trauma. As a certified yoga instructor, Madeline practices mindfulness and skills for emotional regulation. Her education, passion, continued education, and professional experiences make her uniquely qualified to guide her clients to be the best version of themselves.

Message to clients

By asking insightful questions, challenging you, and offering support, I will teach you skills to self-soothe, reframe your thinking, explore important moments in your past and examine your present day behaviors and relationships. We will set goals to help you improve your confidence, form stronger relationships, have less anxiety and practice positive thinking. My goal is to get you to a place where you no longer need me, but you are always welcome when you do.

An equally important goal of mine is to help my clients improve their relationships with others. I feel the quality of one’s relationships has a very large impact on mental health. By examining one’s attachment style, communication, and needs you will begin to form positive relationships with others. I love to share what I know with the world by offering psychoeducation, helping you find confidence, happiness, peace, and positive relationships.
