Message to clients

When you feel safe with your therapist, when you feel you can tell the truth and be accepted, understood and supported, you will be able to do the work of therapy, which is simply to tell the truth about yourself and your experiences.

We will meet once a week over the course of many weeks and you will tell me what's going on in your mind and your body. By teaching me all about you, you will get to see yourself through a receptive and compassionate perspective; you will see yourself through the eyes of an ally.

You may already have an intuitive understanding that whatever troubles you is in some way a response to some kind of hurt in your past or present. You know that you deserve to be understood in the context of your experiences and what you have learned to do to stay safe and survive.

By acknowledging the innate wisdom of your symptoms we can begin to loosen their grip and you will be able to respond to challenges with greater flexibility and equanimity.
