Professional statement

Musarat Yusufali is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. As a young Social Worker, Musarat began working with new immigrants at a Refugee Resettlement Agency. She then went on to work for Child Protective Services and Shoal Creek Hospital, a mental health inpatient hospital in Austin, TX. That’s where she fell in love with working with individuals suffering from mental health disorders and trauma.

Musarat began treating individuals and families in a private practice setting first in Austin, TX and then moved and is now in Arlington, VA. She serves the DMV population and is licensed in four states including Virginia, District of Columbia, Maryland and Texas.

Musarat is most passionate about incorporating mindfulness research and interpersonal neurobiology, the science of the brain in relationships, into her practice with clients. She also provides culturally competent therapy and incorporates religious and spirituality principles with her clients upon their request.
