Professional statement

Dr. Nancy Miller is a licensed clinical psychologist in Midtown Manhattan, NY with deep expertise in obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders. She has successfully treated many clients with OCD and is extremely familiar with both common and uncommon intrusive thoughts. She is highly skilled at working with clients whose compulsions are both observable and not observable by others. Her work often addresses personality issues such as perfectionism and relationship issues. She prioritizes gaining a thorough understanding of each client’s individual challenges and history before developing a tailored treatment plan based on the principles of evidence-based care.

Dr. Miller uses a skills-based approach to anxiety, including Exposure and Response Prevention, and mindfulness. She practices from the Cognitive Behavioral Orientation with a bent towards Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Her approach is highly individualized, meeting each client where they are and moving at a comfortable pace to tackle difficult thought patterns and behaviors. She aims to empower clients with the practical skills to manage symptoms independently outside of session, decreasing overall levels of anxiety in daily life.

Dr. Miller is committed to developing a therapeutic relationship with all of her clients, founded on a strong clinical understanding of the underlying challenges. She received her BA from George Washington University and her Psy. D. from the Florida Institute of Technology.
