Professional statement

Phuong Do is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. Phuong has 20+ years of experience providing individual and couples/family counseling in a diverse community. Phuong immigrated to the US from Vietnam in her teen years and has extensive experience in both cultural settings. Phuong is fully fluent in Vietnamese and English. She tailors her approaches to your needs, using evidence-based practices like Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Client-Center Therapy approaches. Phuong is trained in ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) and PACT (Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy). Phuong believes that we all have an innate ability to spring forward, and at times, we all need just the right type of support and motivation to find that inner strength. Phuong would guide you to focus on your strengths and resources to make the best possible next steps. Her goal is to provide a confidential, comfortable setting for you to explore and reflect on your feelings, identify your sources of stress, set goals you want to work on, brainstorm the tools to cope with stressors and make the needed changes.

Message to clients

Are you feeling stuck, isolated, or just overwhelmed by life? You are here, so you have already taken the first important step. I welcome the opportunity to help you make the right adjustments to improve your quality of life. With a non-judgmental approach, I will listen and guide you toward accessing your internal strengths to help weather your life's storm.

Counseling can help by providing tools to support empowerment through learning about oneself, working through past and present pain, and identifying effective communication skills. I will create a nurturing and confidential environment for you to explore and work through your troubled feelings. I look forward to joining you on your New Path.

I'm also part of a diverse group of therapists at New Path Counseling LLC. We understand that not everyone heals and copes the same way and that working with a "right fit" therapist is crucial, so I work collaboratively with my team to connect you to the right fit.

Let's work together to create a path that will lead you to greater self-awareness and a better you.
