Dr. Sarah Johnson is a licensed clinical psychologist at PVD Psychological Associates. She is licensed in Rhode Island and offers online and in-person therapy to individuals and families in Rhode Island. She also conducts Neuropsychological Evaluations, Psychological Testing, and Achievement Testing for individuals ages 7 and older. She provides individual and family therapy to older children, adolescents, young adults, and adults of all ages. Her areas of interest and specialization include anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem issues, relationship issues, academic and behavioral challenges, management of ADHD, and parenting difficulties. Dr. Johnson incorporates evidence-based practices such Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), using a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental approach.

Dr. Johnson’s training in Neuropsychological and Achievement testing, as well as her prior work in academic settings, has provided her with invaluable knowledge that informs her clinical work. Dr. Johnson especially enjoys being able to help individuals and families who are seeking support in accessing resources within their academic or workplace environments.

I am grateful that you are here! My focus during therapy and testing is to build an open and trusting collaborative relationship, while helping my clients to develop strategies to cope more effectively and reach their goals. I try to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space for my clients to feel supported and heard.

I have extensive, advanced training in evidence-based therapy such as CBT and DBT. I tailor my treatment approaches while considering the context of my clients's culture and beliefs.
