Professional statement

Scheherazade Collins is a Licensed Psychotherapist located in Los Angeles, CA who works with children (ages 9-12), teenagers, young adults, and adults. Scheherazade has extensive experience working with individuals who are navigating ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, OCD, PTSD, and Autism Spectrum Disorders using Quantitative Electroencephalography (QEEG)-guided Neurofeedback (NFB).

Providing both in-person and virtual sessions, Scheherazade works with clients using an integrated and collaborative approach in order to reach her clients' goals. She employs a variety of assessment tools such as a QEEG in order to make a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan. She draws on her experience and training to choose which treatment option best fits the needs of the client, whether it is CBT, DBT, Self-Regulation skills, Mindfulness skills, Mental Skills Training, NFB, Biofeedback, or any combination of those.

Scheherazade's passion is  working with peak performers and those under pressure to be "on their game" all of the time. As a former professional ballerina, she noticed that a critical element of developing strong mental skills was missing from her training. She works with professional dancers, athletes, actors, doctors, lawyers and others who are training or working in peak performance fields to develop strong mental performance skills to improve focus, overcome adversity, thrive in high pressure environments, and unlock their full potential.

Message to clients

The decision to reach out to someone can be a difficult step to take. Sometimes we find ourselves struggling with problems that seem overwhelming. Other times, we may feel that our problems are not big enough to bother others with, or that we have too many responsibilities to stop and take time out for ourselves. When making the decision to seek out professional help you can ask yourself if your problems are starting to affect different areas of your life such as your work, school, and interpersonal relationships. I can help you to understand what you are going through and can offer insight and self-awareness skills in order to begin the process of healing. You have already taken the first step by looking for support.

"When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone." -Fred Rogers
