Professional statement

I am a resident clinician who has worked in community mental health for more than 10 years in environments as varied as hospice care, juvenile group homes, sexual assault crisis support, and justice-involved individuals. I was raised in a working-class home in northern California and became involved in politics, environmental activism, and community organizing at a young age. These experiences complement my formal education in behavioral science and social work, focusing on clinical therapeutic applications with clients identifying with LGBTQ+, kink, ethical non-monogamy, and ‘geek’ culture. Outside of my practice, I teach sociology and psychology at a Delaware college. In my free time I enjoy travel, museum-going, cooking, spending time with my dog, and fiction writing.

Message to clients

As a therapist, I’ll work collaboratively with you to focus on the change you want to see in your life, identify the barriers standing in your way, and serve as a guide, supporter, and source of empowerment toward understanding and overcoming those obstacles. Typical sessions with me include a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Rogerian, Client-Centered Therapy. My goal is for my clients to leave each session feeling heard, understood, and making progress toward becoming the person you want to be.
