Professional statement

Dr. Simrin Jaglan is trained as a generalist, meaning she’s been fortunate to work with a wide range of clients, varying in severity, diagnostically, age, and in a variety of settings – psychiatric hospital, community mental health, university counseling. Additionally, she has studied and practiced with multiple therapy types. Over the years, she has specialized her experience working with anxiety disorders, eating disorders/body image concerns, adjustment to life changes, relationship concerns, and mindfulness.

Dr. Jaglan strongly believes in evidence based practice and her primary therapy orientation is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). However, she values you as her client first and foremost and will work with you to determine the best therapy approach for you. She currently works with older teens and adults of all ages, especially with emerging adults, college students, and young professionals.

Dr. Jaglan’s style is compassionate, values-based, and action-oriented, with an emphasis on mindfulness. She will help you gain insight into past, present, and future challenges that are keeping you stuck in unhelpful patterns that you hope to change. As a licensed clinical psychologist, she has extensive training in incorporating the information you share with the latest science has to offer, to get a full understanding of the struggles and barriers in your life. Together, you will develop a personalized plan that meets your goals, whether for self-growth purposes or symptom reduction. Evidence shows that regardless of the type of struggle, therapy seems to work by helping us learn how to better live with what’s inside, so life is more meaningful on the outside. Dr. Jaglan is proud to be a clinical psychologist and hopes to help normalize the importance of being proactive & preventative with mental and emotional healthcare. Dr. Jaglan will work with you to determine how you can best embrace your mental health & wellness.

She has almost ten years of experience in providing therapy and has been in private practice for the past four years. Originally from Chicago, IL, she was part of a group practice serving the Chicagoland area, living the 'windy city' life. Life's journey brought her out to Southern California, where she followed her dream of establishing her own private practice, Embrace Psych. She continues to serve Chicagoans via online therapy, while planting new professional roots in Orange County, CA - providing both online and in-person therapy to those who seek it. Her office is located in Newport Lido Medical Center in Newport Beach, CA and is a calming, private space to begin your work together. Dr. Jaglan looks forward to hearing from you!

Message to clients

Whatever brought you here, it shows acknowledgement that we are human and awareness of our ability to work through our pains. It takes courage to recognize that additional help is needed and to try something different than you may be used to. Take a moment and appreciate your bravery; this is you trying something new, something you may not have thought about before! I believe we all experience pain in life; what’s important is to identify the healthiest ways to manage it and how to stay present. We can learn to channel our energy into valued living and be productive with our pain. I hope to encourage you to embrace life’s challenges, using your own strengths and internal resources, to move in the direction of growth and valued living. My intention is to provide a safe and motivating space to nurture insight, confidence, and readiness to take action in your life; to build a life you are proud and inspired to live.

Uncertain of what the future holds? Seemingly you have it all together, but deep down you’re filled with worry. You feel out of control and try everything possible to regain control, but it’s not working! Whether you feel pressured by societal expectations or are your own worst critic; life’s ups & downs can feel like a never-ending ride. Maybe it's self-esteem; maybe it's body image; maybe it's relationships or just overwhelming stress... Imagine if you felt balanced again; comfortable in your own skin. Imagine feeling confident and ready to embrace life’s chaos in the healthiest of ways. I can help.

I believe that you can live the life you desire. It starts with awareness that something is ‘stuck’, not working in the way we hoped it would, and willingness to acknowledge the need to reassess and try something different. Yes, it may be easier said than done; however, when you expand awareness of how your inner world is impacting your outer world (and vice versa) it opens up countless directions to choose from, creating opportunities for change and to build the life you truly want to live. When we learn to embrace the rollercoaster of life and to navigate its challenges in healthy ways, we have more energy to act in ways we value and to move in directions of our choice. When we are present, confident to take on the good and the bad, we have the ability, power, and space to create a life that is meaningful, joyful, and genuine. I hope to support you in your journey, providing you with the skills and insight needed, to grow and achieve your goals!
