Professional statement

Dr. Whitley Lassen is a clinical psychologist located in Boulder, CO. Dr. Lassen has a passion for helping clients conquer their phobias, social anxiety, overwhelming stress, or excessive worrying. By building coping skills and learning about the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, her goal is to empower her clients to become their own therapists one day and live meaningful, comfortable lives.

Dr. Lassen has over 15 years of experience working with clients who have phobias - whether that’s fear of social situations, fear of flying, fear of insects, or fear of being alone. Many of her clients also suffer from debilitating panic attacks. To support the client in moving past their fear or anxiety, Dr. Lassen uses exposure therapy to slowly build up a client’s tolerance to the object of fear. She also is certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with which she helps clients develop an understanding of how their thoughts and feelings interact with each other.

Lastly, Dr. Lassen’s warm therapeutic style and dedication to mindfulness practices makes her effective in relieving the emotional weight of those who suffer from chronic pain. Dr. Lassen earned her PsyD from California Institute for Integral Studies and welcomes all clients into her sessions to cultivate a better understanding of the self and promoting a greater overall well-being.
