Eating Concerns and Body Image Support Group

Description

This therapy group is specifically designed for individuals grappling with eating concerns and body image issues, offering a supportive and integrative approach to healing. It's open to anyone who feels their life is impacted by these challenges, regardless of age or stage in their recovery journey. The group aims to create a safe and nurturing environment where members can explore the factors that have influenced their perceptions and behaviors, both positive and negative. Through a mix of individual and group activities, members learn to understand and confront underlying issues, fostering a journey towards acceptance and healthier behaviors.

Each session is structured to maximize the therapeutic experience, incorporating techniques that normalize the struggles with eating and body image, promote interpersonal learning, and challenge unhealthy habits. Members will engage in discussions, exercises in empathy and self-compassion, and practical strategies for confronting and changing detrimental patterns. Before joining, potential members may undergo an intake process, ensuring the group aligns with their needs and readiness for change. This may include a brief assessment of their history and goals for therapy.

My qualifications to lead this group stem from a comprehensive background in counseling psychology, with a specialization in eating disorders and body image. I bring years of experience in both individual and group therapy settings, combining evidence-based practices with an empathetic, holistic approach. My expertise not only lies in understanding the complex nature of these issues but also in fostering an environment where individuals feel seen, heard, and empowered to transform their relationship with food and their bodies. This unique blend of professional knowledge and personal commitment to each member's growth sets this therapy group apart.
