Life can be challenging: relationships, life changes, routine experiences can be distressful and even traumatic. It often helps to get a deeper perspective on your distress and how it affects not only your emotions but your mind, body and spirit as well. I will help you take a holistic and even artistic approach to whatever you bring to therapy. Together we'll explore who you are and empower that person to take on life's stressors with a new and powerful outlook!

My absolute love is helping sensitive LGBTQIA+ introverts who have been pushed to the margins discover their voice.

Maybe you’re deeply empathetic, you’ve been told you’re too sensitive, an over-thinker, take things too personally, too quiet, too withdrawn, too much, too... something! Roughly 15-20% of the population has a level of sensory processing sensitivity and about 25-40% of the population are introverts. If you suspect this describes you, you’re in good company.

I think us sensitive introverts have unique needs, ways to tend to ourselves, and types of emotional nourishment that are under-appreciated in the dominant culture. And when we’re navigating a life that involves various intersections, things can be really difficult, even overwhelming.

It’s very important to me that the therapy space honors all pieces of your identity. I offer a judgement-free zone for those interested in exploring and navigating topics related to power, privilege, oppression, and marginalization (e.g., white supremacy, transnegativity, homophobia, sexism, ableism, etc.). In the spirit of full transparency, I believe that as a human who embodies a number of structural privileges, my anti-racist and anti-oppressive learning is never finished, which is humbling.

My goal is to offer you the highest quality holistic counseling that I can, so any gains you make in therapy will last the rest of your life. And I always emphasize that no matter who you are or where you come from, your story is honored here.

Witnessing transformation in people who learn to mine their own hard-earned wisdom enriches what is, for me, a deeply hopeful process. As a parent, I have a deep appreciation for the expansive, innate creativity of children who know their needs and communicate most purposefully when they’re not being met. As adults, we hold all of who we ever were inside us. This innate creative resource often lays dormant, but can be consciously stirred through therapy to serve the process of continued growth.
I believe, as C. G. Jung described best, that we carry the world in microcosm and that attending to soul, while serving individual concerns, also ripples beyond them into the larger community.

If you are seeking therapy for the first time or looking for a new therapist, I congratulate you for even beginning to think about committing to yourself this way. I know it takes a lot of courage and can be difficult, but therapy can be very rewarding in the end. Through personal work and developing the ability to access our authentic self, our relationships and life overall can become more harmonious as we start making decisions based on our heart and soul, rather than just our head.
Message to clients struggling with disordered eating: In my work with clients struggling with disordered eating, we take a look at the purpose that the disordered eating might be serving and the underlying emotional pieces that might be contributing to it. By doing so, we can address and work through these emotional pieces, and one can learn to deal with them in ways other than through restricting food, binging, or overeating. We also work on body image issues, learning develop an inner sense of worth, and a different relationship with ones' body.
