Emily Lambert is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with offices in Midtown Manhattan and Jersey City, NJ. Emily specializes in couples and sex therapy for couples and individuals interested in improving their communication, strengthening their connection with their partner, and developing a deeper understanding of themselves and their partner. Emily is a certified Imago couples therapist, and draws upon her extensive training in Imago Relationship Therapy in her work with couples. Using a tool called the Imago dialogue, she teaches couples a new way of communicating and listening to one another. Emily’s sessions are very hands on and collaborative--couples learn a variety of exercises that they can begin to use both inside and outside of the session to help them regain their connection, intimacy and passion.
Emily welcomes all types of couples in her office--straight, LGBTQ, monogamous or polyamorous. Whether you are dating and trying to figure out the future of your relationship, engaged and want to start off your marriage on the right foot, or married for many years and seeking to regain some of that connection and intimacy that has been lost--Emily believes any couple can benefit from couples therapy.
Emily also specializes in sex therapy, and works with both individuals and couples who are struggling with sexual issues--usually around desire, arousal, performance issues, or infidelity. Emily draws upon extensive training at University of Michigan's Sexual Health Certificate Program in her work with couples and individuals. Emily’s style is warm, genuine and non-judgmental, and she works hard to create a safe space where you can begin to explore these sensitive issues and help you begin to heal and create a sex life that is fun, fulfilling, and satisfying.

I'm a certified Imago couples therapist. Using a tool in Imago called the Intentional Dialogue, I help you and your partner improve the way you communicate, listen to and understand one another. Conflict in relationships is an opportunity for growth- I love helping couples restore their connection and intimacy, and learn and grow both individually and together. I work with people in all different types of partnerships- married, engaged, dating, polyamorous, heterosexual, and LGBTQ. Everyone is welcome in my practice. My other specialty is sex therapy- I work with individuals and couples around intimacy issues, desire discrepancies, sexual dysfunction, and healing from past sexual trauma. I am currently in training at University of Michigan in their prestigious sex therapy certification program."
