Ms. Betsy Tismeer is a bilingual (Spanish/English) nurse/psychotherapist with over 45 years professional experience working with families, adults and children. As a therapist Ms. Tismeer feels she is prepared to be your emotional advocate, and to assist you with the challenges you are facing. Building trust in the therapeutic relationship in a respectful, non-judgmental environment is essential. She believes that every client situation is unique, and she combines an eclectic theoretical approach with professional experience in order to assess, set goals and implement a treatment plan that is specific to your needs.
Having worked as a nurse in obstetrics, labor and delivery, and being a certified specialist in postpartum depression and anxiety, Ms. Tismeer is uniquely equipped to work with mothers experiencing these problems. With her many years of experience and subsequent wisdom she strives to come from a place of understanding and empathy when working with clients.
Working with adolescents and young adults who are struggling with identity formation and the challenges of becoming independent is an area of specialization.
